A NEW attraction could soon open in the UK – and it will be the first of its kind in the country.
There are plans for an outdoor recreational luge track in the Eden Valley in Cumbria.
A luge track is a downhill track with a small sled that fits one or two people.
The plans have been submitted to the local council by joint project developers Daniel Holder and Charles Lowther.
According to Cumbria Crack, the developers said: "The area could be home to Europe’s first gravity-powered, downhill luge track which will offer a unique experience and attract new audiences to the local area."
If plans are approved, the luge track will be set on the northern side of Blaze Fell on Nord Vue Farm in the Eden Valley.

The attraction will be less than one mile away from the A6, and two miles away from Armathwaite.
A 3m wide track will take visitors on an 850m downhill "meander" underneath a canopy of trees.
The developers added: "The track route has been carefully designed so that a minimum of healthy trees will need to be removed and the vast majority of trees will be left untouched."
New trees will be planted and ponds will be built in a bid to improve biodiversity in the woodland area.

But there are lots of other exciting new attractions opening in the UK.
A huge £250million waterpark and spa is opening in Manchester in the next few years, with 35 slides and its own indoor beach.
And this summer, a UK attraction is reopening this summer without any rides or rollercoasters – but parents say their kids love it.
