When it comes to fashion, we often look to celebrities and influencers for our style inspiration, but if you want to be ahead of the trends, there’s someone else you should be checking out – fashion editors.
Not only are they usually ahead of the curve, but they’re often responsible for handpicking exactly which pieces are going to be everywhere in the coming months, making them the ultimate source of style inspo.
With autumn on its way, it’s time for outerwear to shine and there’s one blazer that editors everywhere have been snapping up – & Other Stories’ Oversized Blazer, £175 here.
However, the relatively lofty price tag means it might be out of reach for many of us, which is why we’ve been searching for the perfect alternative.
Thankfully, H&M has come through with its Single Breasted Jacket, £54.99 here, which gives you the same look as the editor-approved one, for £125 less.
Both blazers are made with a wool blend, although the pricier one has a significantly higher content compared to H&Ms. However, the affordable alternative still has 7% wool in its fabric, which will be perfect for keeping you warm as the colder temperatures arrive.
Both also have a similar relaxed silhouette that’s slightly tailored at the waist to give you a flattering silhouette without being too fitted, making it ultra-versatile so you can wear it day or night.
The H&M Single Breasted Jacket, £54.99 here, comes in a choice of four different colours, so you can pick from beige, grey, black and grey pinstriped, and shoppers have been singing its praises.
One five star review said: “This jacket is amazing for the money. Really nice thick winter blazer. Fully lined. Buttons on sleeves and back vent, making it look much more expensive than it was. Looks very much like sister brand &other stories blazers, which are more than double the price! Looking forward to wearing this in autumn/winter.”
A second shopper said: “This is a lovely jacket, wasn't sure whether to keep as the material creases easily, but its super comfy and looks great on, so decided to for the price. I bought a medium and am size 10/12 and there's lots of room, probably could have got away with a small, but wanted to pop layers on under for the winter.”
Some reviews did mention that the sleeves are slightly small fitting compared to the rest of the jacket, although others shared that they sized up to get around it, which also gave them more room for layers underneath.
If you’re after an even more relaxed fit, this ASOS DESIGN Oversized Grandad Wool Mix Jacket In Cream, £45 here (was £60), is an absolute bargain in the sale and still has a small wool content for warmth, whilst being a much more casual and oversized fit.
