Dad breaks down in tears after finding his son, 24, has paid off his ENTIRE mortgage so he can retire early

PAYING off your mortgage is one of those huge life events you spend decades working towards – and there's no denying that it comes as an enormous relief.

So when it dawned on YouTube star Jamie Nyland that he could afford to pay off the mortgage on his dad Richard's home, he jumped at the chance.

Earlier this week, Jamie, 24, from Gloucestershire, shared a video of him surprising his dad with the news on his TikTok channel.

The social media star – who has over 2.3m followers and started making YouTube videos 10 years ago – walked into his dad's bedroom and threw him the keys to his house.

In response, his dad said: "Why did you give me them for?"

"I've just paid off your mortgage," Jamie replied. "I've just rung the bank and paid off every single penny left on your mortgage.

"You now own this whole house. I swear. You've worked your whole life so now you can actually retire."

At first, Richard assumed this was a prank his son was filming for his channel – and he kept repeating "no".

But when it dawned on him that Jamie was being serious, he broke down in tears.

Wiping away tears, Richard said he couldn't accept the sweet gesture – but Jamie insisted that it was already a done deal.

"You're the best son in the world you can have," Richard said before giving the keys back to his son. "It's in the will. The house is yours – what's mine is yours."

He continued: "I love you so much. You paid off my mortgage, I've put you in my will. You retire me for life so I've set you up for life."

The video ends with the father and son hugging and Jamie captioned the clip: "I love you Dad."

Although Jamie hasn't revealed what his dad did for a living, Richard has become an internet star himself – boasting 258,000 followers of his own on TikTok.

Needless to say, the touching video tugged at fans' heartstrings – and the video has now been viewed over a MILLION people.

"You're so lucky to have each other," one replied. "Well done to your dad for raising such a loving and respectful son."

Another added: "This is beautiful!"

Meanwhile, a third gushed: "What an amazing thing to do."
