Demi Lovato is engaged to her boyfriend Jordan "Jutes" Lutes after dating for around a year.
The couple, who went public with their relationship in August 2022, got engaged on Saturday [17 December] while in Los Angeles, California. A representative for the star-studded singer confirmed their exciting news with People and said Jutes, 31 popped the question with a pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring.
The dazzling ring was created by a luxury jewellery boutique in New York, Material Good. Following a "personal and intimate proposal" the newly engaged couple were reported to have visited one of their favourite restaurant in LA, Craig's, to celebrate with family.
Demi first met Jutes, who is a songwriter, in January 2022 when they co-wrote her song Substance. In August of that year, they went public with their romance.
Jutes also co-wrote songs on Demi's eighth album; Happy Ending and City of Angels along with Holy Fvck, which came out that same year. While the pair haven't been together long, Demi opened up about her romance with Jutes while appearing on the PodcastOne podcast, LadyGang.
The Camp Rock star, 31, said: "The way that I met my boyfriend was actually in a session.
"He is a musician himself, but he also co-writes on other people’s music.
She continued: "So he came into the session, and I literally was like, 'Who is this guy?'"
"I texted my friends and was like, ‘Oh my God, the hottest guy just walked In. I am so nervous. I don’t know what to do with myself."
But it appears the pair started out as friends, which Demi revealed during an interview with SiriusXM in July 2023. She explained: "Well, we became friends first.
"We were friends for several months, and then we decided to start dating, and well after we told each other how we felt."
Adding: "I'm super happy and he's my best friend." The couple appear absolutely smitten with each other with Jutes publically gushing over his now fiancée.
For Demi's birthday in August, Jutes paid tribute as he shared a series of sweet snaps and videos. He wrote the caption: "Happy birthday to my best friend. you're obvs the most beautiful and talented person to ever do it," he captioned the post. "but more importantly you're weird af and u make me cry laughing."
Demi was previously engaged to the Young and the Restless actor, Max Ehrich in July 2020 but two months later called off their engagement after claiming she couldn't trust him. At the time Demi said: "I think I rushed into something that I thought was what I was supposed to do.
"I realized as time went on that I didn’t actually know the person that I was engaged to."
