You can stay in giant wine barrels with private saunas and free booze

YOU CAN now stay in a private wine barrel lodge, with your own private sauna.

Of course, complimentary wine is also included in your room.

Located in the Netherlands, Hotel De Vrouwe van Stavoren's wine barrels once held up to 23,000l of wine.

Now a hotel, the eight barrels are open to the public to stay overnight in.

In the standard barrel barrel is a double bed, along with a TV and sofa, as well as a private bathroom with a corner bath and shower.

The Wellness Royal barrel has its own sauna, which includes an indoor jacuzzi, infrared steam cabin and underfloor heating.

Guests also get a free bottle of wine to enjoy together inside too.

Nights start from £162 per night, depending on which barrel you stay in.

Guests can also enjoy a view of the boats in the harbour of Stavoren, just a couple of hours from Amsterdam.

Unfortunately you will have to book in advance – the UK is currently under lockdown which means holidays are not allowed to go ahead.

The Netherlands has also banned non-essential entry from the UK to the country.

It isn't the only wine-barrel hotel to add to your bucket list, bizarrely.

In Portugal, you can stay in a wine barrel located on a working vineyard.

In Germany, a wine barrel hotel will deliver you a crate of wine straight to your door.

Water-lovers can enjoy a floating wine barrel lodge in Canada, located on a secluded lodge.
