As such, here are some great reads on useful breathing techniques that can help with a host of issues that might be troubling you.

Breathing techniques

  • The 4-7-8 technique – to help with sleep

Reportedly first used by Indian yogis as part of their meditation practice, this technique is said to help you fall asleep in just 60 seconds! You inhale through your nose for four seconds, hold the breath for seven seconds, and slowly exhale through your mouth for eight seconds.

  • The Humming Bee technique – to help with tension and stress

Also known as “Bhramari pranayama”, this technique triggers the “rest and digest” nervous system, which is responsible for lowering heart rate and food digestion. Sit comfortably with a straight spine. Place your thumbs over your ears and your fingers over your eyes. Inhale through your nose and as you exhale, hum.

  • Stomach breathing technique – to help with anxiety

When you breathe shallowly, your lungs do not fully fill. Deep breaths that come from the stomach reportedly encourage a full oxygen exchange in the lungs, which can slow the heart rate and lower blood pressure.

  • Alternative nostril technique – to help with memory and concentration

This technique can help promote whole brain development. Close your mouth and relax your tongue. Use your left index finger to close your right nostril, and breathe in through the left nostril. Use your left thumb to close your left nostril as you release the index finger and breathe out through your right nostril. Then, reverse! With the same fingers in place, breathe in through your right nostril and out through your left nostril.

Sun Bingo’s pause options

Playing with Sun Bingo should only ever be fun. So, if you’re finding that it’s starting to become something else, take a pause and breathe.

We have a few functions that can help.

  • Cool off

You might like to start by trying the “Cool Off” feature, which allows you to take a break from your account at any time. You can set the cool off period from 24 hours to six weeks. To activate a cool off, visit the “My Account” section, click on “Responsible Gaming”, then “Account Cool Off”. Your account will automatically reactivate after the cooling off period has ended.

  • Self-exclusion

Similar to the Cool Off function, self-exclude allows you to deactivate your account for between six and 60 months. Please be aware that if you select this option, the account cannot be reopened until the period set has expired.
