Porn addict’s wife says she still ‘trusts’ husband if he watches racy videos

A woman has stirred debate after she shared her advice to people who've caught their spouse watching pornography.

Jolene Winn, who works as a life coach, offers her guidance to women to overcome their husband's porn addiction problem after going through the ordeal herself years ago.

She used to think she was "not doing enough" to please her husband and felt cheated on until she learned to re-build trust with her partner.

Sharing her opinion on Instagram, she sees "trust" as a choice – despite the majority of viewers disagreeing.

Jolene touched on the topic by saying: "Let's talk about trust – how do I start trusting my husband even if he still watches pornography?

"We often think that trust is something that we feel because of something that someone else is doing, but rather than trusting in the action of the other person.

"I all want to offer that you can actually trust in who they are at the core because sometimes actions aren't a true reflection of who we really are, right?

"I want to offer that you start opening your brain to the idea that perhaps you can trust your husband for who he is, not necessarily for what he is doing.

"His actions may not align with who he is and if you can't trust his actions, you can't trust him."

Describing herself as "the porn addict's wife", Jolene believes the answer to her suffering is not for her husband to get the help he needs, but to take ownership.

However viewers believed "trust is earned" and called her advice "false hope".

One woman shared: "I stayed way too long for this exact reason, justifying away slips, believing his words over his actions, loving him for his potential and his 'good days' …but in the end I had to finally let go of the fantasy."

Another commented: "This just feels like asking women to lower their standards. Trust is earned."
