Pamper yourself for less while spas are closed with our cash-saving tips

FEELING a little run-down in lockdown?

The start of 2021 hasn’t been easy, so take time to look after yourself.

A little pamper can work wonders, and while spas may be shut (and costly when they’re open), a bit of savvy can help you recreate a spa-like experience at home.

FACE FACTS: Being stuck indoors with the heating on is leaving my skin feeling rather parched. A professional facial may be off the cards, but thankfully sheet masks can work wonders. Plus they don’t make a mess and are pretty cheap. I love the Garnier Moisture Bomb Chamomile Hydrating Face Sheet Mask, currently £1.95 at Superdrug, down from £2.99. It’s relaxing and makes my skin feel so much better in just a jiffy. And once we’re let out again, they’re the perfect base for glam make-up.

SOAK IT UP: Pop bath salts in a jar for a practical home accessory. Neals Yard Remedies have lovely options from £15.50, but Boots is offering selected Westlab bathing salts for £2.99, down from £5.99.

SAVE: £12.51

LOVIN’ LAVENDER: Lavender is fantastic for relaxing. Using it as an oil, or a moisturiser that includes it, is a fabulous way to keep your skin soft and calm your senses. You can also pop it in to a diffuser to help you get a good night’s sleep, or use it to add a relaxing scent to your home. Tisserand Aromatherapy oils are fantastic, but at £12.95 for 20ml, you can save by switching to one from Naturesbest.co.uk. The same amount costs £7.95.

ROBE IN VOGUE: It’s not a spa without a luxe robe. I am obsessed with the Rosie for Autograph sleep collection at M&S. However, I won’t be paying £50 for a dressing gown, even in the sale. Instead, head to Boohoo.com where similar options cost £14.40 – and there’s lots of colours available too. Get the family matching ones and it’ll feel just like the spa.
