This is the hilarious moment a group of foreign students stopped walking at a red traffic light – because they thought it was for pedestrians.
Daniel Southern, a scaffolder from Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, filmed the incident after hearing a group of people with American accents pass by his work van as he waited for the light to turn green.
The group could be seen innocently making their way towards the traffic light, before coming to an abrupt pause dead on the pavement as soon as it turned red.
The 33-year-old could be heard erupting in stitches as the crowd stood patiently on the pavement waiting for the light to turn green, before setting off again on their stroll – appearing none the wiser of their blunder.
Narrating the scene from inside his fan, Daniel remarked: “F***ing traffic lights on red, so they’ve stopped f***ing walking.

The clip unfolds near Scunthorpe town centre with Daniel seated in his Fiat 500 work van alongside his pals Jason and Neil.
When the traffic light ahead of them turns red, they come to a stop and oddly so do a group of six students who they’ve noticed walking to the left of them.
Humorously, it appeared the cohort were obeying traffic rules meant for the road, instead of for pedestrians.
They then brought their walk to a complete standstill while waiting for the light to turn green.
A tickled Daniel began filming the moment on his phone, adding: ‘Foreign students, it’s not a sidewalk man’.
As the traffic eased up, the men set off down the road while the students also began walking again.
Howling with laughter, Daniel sarcastically added: ‘F**k off’.
Recounting the incident later on, Daniel said: ‘We were crawling in traffic parallel to them with the window down in the lorry as I was having a cigarette.

‘We could hear an accent we think was American and as the lights went red, they [the students] stopped with the traffic.
‘We immediately questioned what was going on thinking no way they have all stopped due to the traffic light. I quickly got my phone out and couldn’t believe what we had witnessed.
‘It just goes to show how different things work in other parts of the world doesn’t it?
Daniel shared the hilarious video on social media, causing it to go viral – an outcome he never would’ve predicted.
‘I didn’t realise this would go viral or I would have worded it differently and cut the swearing in the video’ he said.
‘We were all in stitches for the full day. We’re scaffolders and with this freezing weather we have at the minute it lifted the morale in the gang for the day, probably the rest of the year in fact’.
The clip has received more than 3000 likes and over 1,900 comments, with users eager to weigh in on the actions of the confused students.
