STILL waiting for your pot o’ gold? Me too.
But you can still strike it lucky with some bargain treats today on St Patrick’s Day.
Even though there are no wild parties this year, my deals are well worth a craic . . .
TAKE A BITE OF THIS: Picking up a snack while on shift today? Grab the brand new Ginsters Smoky Steak & Guinness Slice for just £1.
A-MAYONNAISE-ING: Heinz has created limited edition pots of green mayo, containing actual shamrocks. To get a free pot, you need to check their Instagram account @Heinz_UK.
LET THE FUN BE-GUINNESS: Tesco has a great deal on the black stuff with 10 x 440ml cans for £9, down from £11 when you use your Clubcard. But Morrisons steals the show with 15 x 440ml cans for £9.99 (RRP £15.99), saving £6.
MEAT TREATS: Head to Lidl for Irish Stout Beef Burgers (two for £1.99) or try Aldi Guinness Burgers (£2.49 for two). You could also pick up Aldi’s Prime Irish Steak with Whisky Sauce, £6.25.
SIP THE GOOD STUFF: Jameson Irish Whiskey is on offer for £15 for a 70cl bottle at Asda, usually £23. That’s a hefty £8 saving. But if you’re whipping up an Irish coffee and prefer to use Baileys, pick up a 70cl bottle for £10, down from £13, also at Asda.
DON’T THROW AWAY DOUGH: You can get a 400g loaf of Rankin’s brown Irish Soda bread for £1.45, but making your own is easy. Trialandeater.com’s recipe is worth a go. All you need is plain flour, buttermilk, baking soda and salt. At the main supermarkets that will cost £2-3, and you’ll get a bigger loaf that’s fresher and should go further.
IRISH STEW: Check out one of my favourite bargain home cooks, Lorna Cooper (@fyf20quid), for bargain stew recipes. But if you need a quick fix, head to Asda for its Smart Price Irish Stew, 75p per tin. Iceland also has four for £10 deals across their meats; batch cook a giant stew that you can freeze.

Deal of the day
GLASTONBURY is back on . . . a piece of bread. The limited edition Worthy Farm Reserve Cheddar & Pickle Sandwich has joined Co-op’s £3.50 lunchtime meal deal.
NEW Lambrini cans will soon be available in convenience stores for £1.50 each. There are four new flavours to choose from, cherry, mango, rhubarb and strawberry.
MORRISONS has announced it will be donating over half a million meals to local pet rescue centres to help feed the nation’s cats and dogs after demand surged during the past year.
Many animal shelters have been struggling through lack of funding and the economic fallout of Covid.
Great stuff, Morrisons!
NEW obsession alert! The Aldi rattan furniture range has just landed and it’s incredible value. This MADE.com double bed frame costs £549. The Aldi one is an online exclusive and costs just £149.99.
Giselle’s little helper
ASDA has launched a dedicated meal planning section on their website and I think it’s brilliant.
Make sure you’re signed in or register as a customer and head to the meal planning tab or groceries.asda.com/meal-planning to use the interactive tool to start building your weekly menu. Meal planning really helps keep costs down.
