A Look Inside Pierce Brosnan’s $100 Million Malibu Mansion

Malibu is the perfect getaway for Hollywood celebrities if they want sand between their toes and the sun on their backs. Stars such as Cher, Lady Gaga, Leo DiCaprio, Miley Cyrus, and even Kim Kardashian bought an estate in Malibu. In 2002, after the success of Bronan’s film Die Another Day, the actor and his filmmaker wife, Kelly, started building the house. Irish actor Pierce Brosnan and his wife have a glamorous Thai-inspired vision in mind, brought to life by the architects Ralph and Ross Anderson.

The couple bought two adjacent lands for the property that sits on a 1.8-acre lot and after a decade, the house was finally completed. The Southeast Asian-inspired Malibu house is a reflection of Bond-style good taste. He called it “The Orchid House”. Visiting this house is a heavenly tropical vacation. Let’s take a look inside Pierce Brosnan’s $100 million Malibu mansion.

3 The Southeast Asian-Inspired Oceanfront Estate

Brosnan said that the main inspiration for the Malibu house is his 1997 Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in Thailand. It is expansively laid out with clean lines and ocean views that are to die for. Both outdoor and indoor architecture are high art forms inside out. The interior spaces are filled with handcrafted woodwork and vintage chandeliers that Brosnan himself picked from Paris. Its bizarre scissor-truss ceilings are a delight to one’s eyes.

The main house and guest house have five bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. On the ground, the chef’s kitchen has two, long wooden islands. The kitchen is perfect for hosting a private chef who charge a fortune. It has custom teak cabinets, crystal quartz countertops, and two stoves. It has seamless access to the dining area. The house also has its own butler’s pantry. Back to the main house, there are two suites on the ground floor and a master bedroom located on the second floor.

The master bedroom has a private deck, sitting room, teak cabinets, two oversized fireplaces, and a beachside deck. It has a master bathroom with a floor-to-ceiling window. One can appreciate the ocean’s view in the privacy of the bathroom. Inside, there’s a big, antique chandelier and a private dressing room. The suites on the ground floor have their own walk-in closet and private bathrooms.

2  A Stunning Tropical Getaway With A Massive Outdoor Space

Brosnan turned “The Orchid House” into his tropical getaway by having a lavish and spacious outdoor space. It has courtyards and wraparound lanais. The couple bought custom-carved teak entry gates from Thailand to welcome guests into their houses. The mansion looks like a luxurious resort in Thailand. The outdoor dining is enclosed with thick glasses. Brosnan said in an interview that it’s designed to prevent the napkin from blowing over when they’re having food outside.

One of the homeowner’s problems with owning a beach house is the deterioration of the wood over time. Brosnan made sure that the balcony is made out of materials that can resist the damage caused by the water in the long run. The oceanfront estate grounds are surrounded prettily by mature palms, fire pits, and a path that leads straight to the beach. They have imported sand to create their own private beach and for their kids to play with about 117 feet of beachfront.

The outdoor space has its own saltwater pool with a waterfall, outdoor shower, and a patio with the perfect view of the ocean, surrounded by lots of greenery. It’s designed for entertaining along with a separate dining area and living area with windbreaks.

The sunny location of the house makes it the perfect place to unwind and relax. It also gives the homeowner a vast tanning area and access to two beaches, including a private one with imported sand. Perfumed tropical flowers are noticeably surrounding the house. It’s the perfect cherry on top to complete the southeast Asian tropical paradise Brosnan is aiming for.

The Malibu house was first listed in September 2020 for $100 million. It soared high above the median home value in Malibu of about $3.2 million. It has been listed for a year without an offer, and the actor decided to pull out the house from the market. Though the Brosnans still call Malibu their home, they live primarily in Hawaii.

1 A Stand Alone Guest House With Luxurious Features

The guest house is separated from the main house with its own pool house and a bar with a wide range of martini selections. This is where the personal large mirrored gym is located, an infrared, travertine-walled spa with two Japanese soaking tubs, a sauna, and a recording studio. The gym is as stylish as it can get and is perfect gym rats like the Kardashians. It also has its home theater that can seat up to 20 people in tiered seating, such a place that is suited for a veteran actor. The climate-controlled wine-storage unit can hold up to 200 bottles.

All five bedrooms have great views of the ocean, mountain, and garden surrounding the tropical house. The expansive main suite benefits the most from its breathtaking ocean view. The office is also located in the guest house, which can be turned into a library or an art studio.
