The Chelsea Flower Show 2021 has lots to offer viewers, including popular garden tours, specialist growers sharing their top tips and secrets and easy to follow demonstrations and advice on planting. Whether you’re the owner of a balcony or a sprawling back garden, the show has something for everyone. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has confirmed the in-person Chelsea Flower Show has been postponed until September this year, enabling the virtual show to go ahead this week.
Director General of the RHS, Sue Biggs said: “Following the postponement of this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the huge success of last year’s online event, we want to help galvanise the nation to continue to grow plants and to keep the millions of new gardeners growing this spring by bringing new garden design, plant inspiration and horticultural knowledge into the homes of millions of people around the world once again.
“As the country gradually eases out of lockdown, excitement for the return of the world’s most famous flower show is brewing and we can’t wait to reveal some of the exciting content we have planned for the autumn show as part of the RHS Virtual Chelsea Flower Show.”
The RHS has confirmed the in-person show will run for six days, from September 21 until September 26 at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.
The decision to postpone is the first time the RHS has been forced to take such measures in the show’s 108-year history.
At the same time, it’s also the first instance in which the show will run for six days instead of five.
The lineup of this year’s virtual Chelsea show includes a whole host of stellar guests.
Radio DH and presenter Jo Wiley will be inviting viewers into her beautiful Northamptonshire garden alongside fellow DJ Trevor Nelson.
Both will be catching up with the award-winning RHS Chelsea designer Matthew Wilson, who designed his own back garden in north London.
Foodies haven’t been left out and are in for a treat with the virtual garden tour with Raymond Blanc.
The celebrity chef will reveal the fruit and vegetables he is busy growing in Jardin Blanc.
The virtual show will also feature in-depth horticultural discussions by big names in gardening.
BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Arit Anderson will be joined by designer Marian Boswell for a conversation about sustainable garden designs, while BBC news correspondents Daniela Relph and Sangita Myska will offer a rare insight into their own gardens.
Visitors will get the opportunity to watch celebrity florist Simon Lycett and presenter Nicki Chapman discussing their favourite RHS Chelsea memories while creating their own, unique floral displays.

Some award-winning gardeners featured in this year’s virtual show include Charlotte Harris, Sarah Eberle, Robert Myers and Tom Massey, who will all reveal the process behind preparing and adjusting their grows for the September show.
Some growers who are unable to attend the Autumn show will be at the virtual event, offering advice and tips to green-fingered Brits at home.
Long-time Chelsea regular Peter Beales Rose will provide viewers with a tour of their nursery and share inside tips on how to create rose-cove3red obelisks.
Members of the RHS team will revisit the garden at the Highgate Mental Foundation as well, to find out how the lives of patients and staff have changed since receiving the RHS Feel Good Garden from RHS Chelsea in 2018.
