Others were less excited about the brand with some commenting: “They look lovely but there’s quite a lot of plastic used there.”

Marks and Spencer explained that The Ombles are here to stay and there will be more products launching throughout the year including cakes, sweets and seasonal products too.

The upmarket retailer also recently launched a brand new addition to their Colin the Caterpillar range.

The giant white chocolate Colin the Caterpillar face is made from solid white chocolate with milk chocolate eyes.

They retail for just £1 and fans can buy them all year round, not just on special occasions.

Colin the Caterpillar is an extremely popular brand in M&S and there are now several variations of the original cake including jelly sweets, mini logs and a whole bag of mini Colin the Caterpillar faces.

When travelling to an M&S store for an essential shop, there are many rules and guidelines in place to help ensure the safety of both staff and customers.

Food Halls are still open as usual, including in larger stores that also sell clothing and homeware.

However opening times have changed and do differ between stores so shoppers should double check this before travelling.

Face coverings are mandatory in-store and colleagues will be wearing masks too unless exempt.

Customers should practise social distancing from other people in-store and are encouraged to use the hand sanitisers provided.

Customers can also skip the queues by reserving a shopping slot with the new Sparks Book & Shop service.
