Product and food recalls can be shared when items pose a possible risk to shoppers. Asda has issued a warning on a number of things sold in stores.

Hey Duggee: Duggee and the Magical Unicorn

The supermarket has extended a recall on children’s books and shared more affected titles.

Hey Duggee books have also been recalled by supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

A warning has already been issued for the title Hey Duggee: Duggee and the Dinosaurs.

Asda has updated the warning on the books as there could be a choking hazard.

A statement said: “Ladybird Books is instigating an urgent product recall on this title due to the discovery of a manufacturing fault on some copies where the foil lamination on the cover of the book can be peeled off.

“Small parts of foil could be a choking hazard to small children.”

Anyone who has purchased the book should take it away from small children.

It can be returned to the store where it was bought for a full refund.

A receipt is not needed and only the Hey Duggee titles listed are thought to be affected.

Asda Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie

The supermarket chain continues to have a notice out for the vegan pie product.

All date codes are affected and the product’s barcode is 505717223369.

Some packs may have the presence of milk, which is not listed on the label.

A statement explained: “Asda is recalling all date codes of Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie (170g) because some packs may contain trace amounts of milk constituents which are not mentioned on the label.

“Milk is not declared on the packaging, so this means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”

Those who have bought the food item and have an allergy or intolerance to milk can return it to stores for a refund.

Asda 2 Original Chicken Chargrills

The chicken product has the best before date of September 5, 2022 and the batch code 31120953.

Some packs could contain salmonella, which causes symptoms such as sickness, fever and abdominal pain.

“Asda are recalling a single date code of Asda 2 Original Chicken “Chargrills 170g due to the possible presence of Salmonella. No other date codes or Asda brand products are known to be affected,” Asda continued.

“If you have purchased Asda 2 Original Chicken Chargrills 170g with a best before date of 05/09/2022, please do not consume the product.

“Please return it to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
