MOVING into a new house can be a stressful time, especially as the last owners may have left an unexpected mess behind for you to deal with.
And this is exactly what one person experienced when they found a blue stain going down the side of their sink.
Despite trying every trick in the book to remove it, they said it simply wouldn’t budge.
And in a bid to find a solution to the problem, they took to the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips to get advice.
“Moved into new house and this blue streak just does not budge,” they wrote in a post. “Have tried bleach and not any better.
“Please advise on what can get rid of this horrible thing.”

Underneath this, they shared a snap of the offending stain, which could be seen directly underneath the hot tap of the sink, running down into the drain.
With over 120 comments, people were keen to help the person out and share their suggestions on how to remove the stain.
But by far the most interesting one included a 2p coin.
“Rub with a wet 2p gently,” one person wrote.

Another said: “2 pence fetches right off x,” to which one person replied: “Will it scratch”. Assuring them, they said: “Test a small area but it shouldnt x”.
A third person shared: “Looks like limescale. And then someone has tried to clean it probably using toilet cleaner or viakal and stained it.
“2p can scrub it off and then wipe with a scarer to get grey marks off”.
Others gave some alternative suggestions to solve the issue as one person said: “HG Limescale remover. My cleaner must have used toilet cleaner and I couldn’t get it off. HG was immediate”.
Another wrote: “Barkeepers friend the powdered one is a bottle make it into a paste i use it for professional cleaning it’s amazing and then use a scrubber”.
While a third offered: “Toothpaste? Works on cleaning marks from plastic bath toys. Worth a try?”
