I’m a Primark beauty team employee – how to really clean your make-up pads and why you have to let them air dry | The Sun

PRIMARK’S beauty team have revealed exactly how you should be cleaning your reusable cleansing pads from the retailer.

The product went viral back in July as beauty buffs raved about them on social media as eco-friendly alternatives to make-up wipes.

Primark's beauty team's washing routine is designed to get the pads as clean as possible without ruining their softness.

According to employees at the fast fashion retailer, bleach and fabric conditioner are huge no-gos as they’ll make your beloved pads “scratchy”.

“Use a small amount of mild detergent,” the beauty team advised. “Not too much or they’ll feel scratchy.

“Avoid bleach and fabric softener, and let them air dry.”

Alongside getting them fresh again, Primark’s employees also shared some tips for making your reusable cleansing pads last longer.

“Wash in cold water on a delicate cycle to reduce risk of fibre damage,” they recommended.

That means your best bet is chucking the cleansing pads into your washing machine when you do your next load of underwear and smalls.

“To whiten, add a splash of lemon juice,” the experts said.

A 10 pack of the colourful pads will set you back just £2 – meaning each pad works out at 20p a pop.

“These multi-use beauty pads are a great way to take off the day, time and time again,” a blurb on them reads.

The retailer also sells “glow pads” which double up as cleansing pads, but are thicker and more fibrous.

These are available in a multi-size 3 pack in black and small-size 5 pack in an array of pastel colours, with both sets costing £2.50.

And we all know Primark’s partnership with Disney means the brand had to treat customers to Minnie Mouse Originals Reusable Cleansing Pads.

The lilac 3 pack has different Minnie Mouse designs on each pad.

“One hundred years of Disney and many moments loving these reusable cleansing pads, we hope,” a product description reads.

“Arriving as a pack of three, each of these round, purple pads depict a graphic of Disney’s Minnie Mouse to add a signature touch to the trio.
