I’m a cleaning pro and everyone should be cleaning these five things once a month

EVERY keen cleaner knows there are some jobs that need to be done everyday.

But there are also some less important things that still need to be done, but less often.

That's not to say you can forget about cleaning them altogether, but once a month will cut it.

Cleaning and organising pro Caroline Solomon recently shared some of there things, and we are shocked by some of the stuff we've been forgetting to clean.

When was the last time you cleaned your vacuum's filter?

If you can't remember that's probably a good sign to get to cleaning, just rinse under cool water and let it air dry overnight for optimal vacuuming.

You should also be cleaning your washing machine monthly, annoyingly, they're not self cleaning.

Caroline says you can add vinegar where you would normally add your detergent and baking soda to the drum on a hot cycle to banish any build up of gunk and grime.

The same goes for your dish washer, despite it cleaning your dishes it can easily get clogged up and food and in unseen corners.

Just sprinkle baking soda on the bottom to deodorise and two cups of vinegar on the top rack for a deep clean.

While you probably hoover more than once a month, you probably forget about your skirting boards and any vent covers in your home.

Unsurprisingly, they're dust magnets and both need a quick wipe down once a month to keep on top of it.

And while a lot of people already clean they're bedding weekly, Caroline says that you shouldn't put it off any longer than a month.

So get those bedsheets in the machine, right after you've given that a good clean, of course.
