I underpaint my face to get the perfect look – trolls come at me for changing my skin tone but it looks so flawless | The Sun

A WOMAN who loves to underpaint during her make-up routine has hit back at trolls who have told her she changes her whole skin tone by doing this.

Beauty and fashion whizz Caitlin Muirhead shared her point of view during a get ready with me-style video on social media platform TikTok, explaining that by the end she always looks flawless.

“When I do my make-up like this, people are quick to come in the comments and be like, ‘why are you changing your skin tone?’” she started her clip.

Caitlin said that she understands why trolls say this as it looks “completely insane” when she adds heavy amounts of bronzer to sculpt out her cheeks, forehead and chin.

“But I feel like with make-up, this is definitely one where you have to trust the process,” she told viewers.

Sharing a tutorial on what she does, @caitlinmuirheadd said she opts for a darker cream bronzer than she would use over her foundation to make sure it comes through.

“Be as messy as you want with this, it doesn’t have to be perfect because we’re putting stuff on top of it,” she said.

After covering three quarters of her forehead and the majority of her cheeks, she went in with her concealer.

“Obviously, this has got to be lighter than your foundation because this is going to do highlighting,” she said.

Applying the concealer on her under eyes, forehead, by the nose, under the bronzer on her cheeks and her chin, she blended it out.

“A lot of celebrity make-up artists do this,” she claimed.

“I also, lowkey, feel like this is quicker than doing foundation, then cream bronzer, then concealer. I feel like this is just, I don’t know, I love it!”

Explaining that she prefers skin tint over foundation, she then squeezed some Iconic-branded warm-medium skin tint onto the back of her hand.

She then instructed viewers to “spread it out” before using a dense make-up brush to pat the product into the brush.

“And you can begin to just press it over,” she said.

Once the rest of her make-up was done, complete with mascara and a rose lip, she shared: “This is how I like to do my make-up at the minute.

“I feel like it looks so flawless. You’re using less product as well.

“People think you’re using more because you’re painting it on, but it’s because it needs to appear through. You know?”

Despite the trolls, people were left impressed with the finished look and took to the comments to gush over her.

“Looks amazing,” one person wrote as another chimed: “You look incredible,” followed by a heart eye emoji.
