thisisneverthat's Converse Collaboration Explores the Concept of "New Vintage"

Returning with its latest collaboration, South Korean streetwear imprint thisisneverthat is now readying the release of its anticipated team-up with Converse. Dubbed “New Vintage,” the expansive range is centered around the footwear name’s archives with a focus on ’90s styling through faded colors, materials and unique stylized finishes.

Leading the special range are thisisneverthat’s standout takes on the Converse One Star and Chuck 70 models. The thisisneverthat x Converse One Star “New Vintage” features a premium blue nubuck upper paired with roughed black rubber midsoles with retro toe bumpers. Additional detailing comes in the form of metal eyelets, stiff black laces and bright green rubber outsoles. While the thisisneverthat x Converse Chuck 70 “New Vintage” utilizes soft suede accented by aged midsoles accented by black contrast stitching and the same green rubber outsoles and metal eyelets. Marking both shoes are serial number text detailing on the midsole, engraved lace aglets, special woven labels, patches and heel license plates.

Accompanying the footwear release, thisisneverthat has also prepared a French terry Utility Fleece, pocket riddled Utility Zip-Up Jacket, T-shirt, Woven Pants and Beanie to mark the collaboration. Converse’s “Converse By You” customization service will also be offering personalization options for the thisisneverthat “New Vintage” collection at the Converse Hongdae flagship, Converse at The Hyundai Seoul, Converse Lotte Dongtan and its other select locations throughout South Korea.

The thisisneverthat x Converse “New Vintage” collection will be available for pre-order via thisisneverthat October 31, with a wider release from Converse and at select retailers set for November 4. Watch a short film celebrating the concept of “New Vintage” across New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Seoul below, the film will also be integral to a pop-up exhibition being held at the Converse Hongdae flagship location from October 31.
