Jordan Brand and Eastside Golf are teaming up yet again, this time using the Air Jordan 1 High Golf as the base silhouette for a significant commemorative pair titled the “1961.”
Stamped on the left heel of the shoe is “CHANGE.” and on the right heel “1961” — representing a significant moment in golfing history when the PGA Tour abolished its prohibition on people of color players.
In addition to the Eastside Golf Air Jordan, there are said to be two more silhouettes coming out as part of the “1961” lineup, namely a Jordan ADG 4 and an Air Jordan 6 Low Golf. However, at the time of writing, details on these additional pairs are scarce.
As for the Eastside Golf Air Jordan 1 High Golf, design elements feature tastefully combined hues of Black, Malachite, Metallic Gold and White. Based on what we know so far, the pair seems to be crafted with premium materials and features mesh tongues and inner lining.
Notable accents that bring the pair together include “Eastside Golf” cursive lettering inside of the main Swooshes, the brand’s golfing man logo at the tongue, “Eastside Golf” logo at the insoles and gold tipped laces to match the metallic gold Jordan Brand logo — the pair is also said to include special hangtags and packaging.
Retail for the Eastside Golf Jordan 1 High Golf “1961” is set at $200 USD, with a release expected to take place at select Jordan Brand retailers, Stadium Goods and
