Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eldest daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt has truly grown up before our eyes. In case you missed it, Jolie recently announced that Zahara will attend the historical Black liberal arts school named Spelman College in the fall. So we can imagine the Jolie-Pitt household is over the moon right now as they celebrate their amazing Zahara.

Born on Jan. 8, 2005, in Awasa, Ethiopia, Zahara was officially adopted within a few months by Jolie on July 6, 2005, later also adopted by Pitt in 2006. Since then, she’s kept a relatively low profile, like the rest of her siblings. But within the past few years, she’s accompanied her mother on both the red carpet and political visits alike.

Jolie doesn’t talk about her children often, but when she does, she can’t help but gush about them. In a recent conversation with a Time 100, she said how “in awe” she is of Zahara. “My daughter is from Ethiopia, one of my children. And I have learned so much from her. She is my family, but she is an extraordinary African woman, and her connection to her country, her continent, is very—it’s her own, and it’s something I only stand back in awe of.”

While we know little about Zahara, we can also say she’s quite awe-inspiring. See everything we know about Zahara below!
