Britney Spears insists she's 'not having a breakdown' in Instagram return

Britney Spears is back on Instagram after worrying fans by deleting her account.

Supporters of the Toxic hitmaker were concerned for her welfare after she changed her name on the app to River Red before deactivating her account completely, resulting in police turning up at the star’s house to check on her.

She later assured her Twitter followers that she was ‘alive and well’, pleading with fans to stop invading her privacy.

The 41-year-old said she felt the incident ‘gaslit’ and ‘bullied’ by the incident, as she was portrayed in an ‘unfair’ way by the press.

Now, the Grammy-winning singer has reinstated her Instagram account and shared a defiant message, insisting she’s ‘not having a breakdown’ but ‘moving forward in my life.’

‘Yes I took my Instagram down and now it’s back up because I can!!!’, the pop star wrote, adding that people should ‘think again’ if they ‘think they know my story.’

Following the end of her 13-year conservatorship, in which her father controlled her life and finances until 2021, she claimed that she is ‘not this girl or that girl’, but instead River Read, and happily free.

‘Being able to volumise my voice in a world where I lost my rights … for 15 years … gives me an opportunity to succeed !!!’, the musician added.

‘Opportunity to know I matter and maybe if you walked in my shoes then maybe just maybe you could understand.’

She said she is ‘still learning this no rules thing’ now she’s got control over her life, but she feels ‘younger’ and ‘in awe.’

‘Unfortunately I’m boring as hell and drink hot chocolate at night!!!’, Britney added.

‘I’ve waited nearly 15 years to drink alcohol only to realise I hate it!!! It makes me sad and I feel bloated, although food tastes better.’

She concluded the post by seemingly mocking the people who make fun of her for showing her body on the app, claiming she doesn’t want to ‘stay humble’ but would ‘rather show my a**.’

Britney’s return to the site comes after she and husband Sam Asghari, 28, denied reports of her having a ‘meltdown’ in a restaurant.

The couple went out for a quiet dinner with TMZ later claiming that Sam became ‘visibly upset’ and ‘abruptly stood up and stormed out the door.’

They also alleged that the singer caused a scene at the establishment in Woodland Hills, California, after becoming distressed when people took photos of her.

Eyewitnesses at the venue suggested the award-winning artist grew more and more upset and started ‘yelling’ and speaking in gibberish, a reaction that apparently prompted her spouse’s walk-out.

However, Sam has now explained what actually went down, after previously encouraging fans not to believe everything they read with a cryptic social media post.

The star shared how his wife – whom he met on set of her music video in 2016 – feels ‘disrespected’ when she’s filmed while out and about.

Sam told paparazzi recently: ‘People get a little too excited to see my wife, so everybody’s filming and doing their thing, but you know how it is… fame comes with the territory and I went to get the car to get the hell out of there and people just thought I left!’

‘But that didn’t happen,’ he assured, rubbishing rumours of any kind of kick-off.
