Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was taken to hospital yesterday evening after being ambushed in the sauna of an LA Fitness. The 26-year-old Stoopid artist was beaten “to a pulp”, his attorney Lance Lazzaro has said.

The star had no security on him at the time of the attack and was outnumbered by the assailants, his lawyer told TMZ.

Lazzaro also said that the rapper had tried to defend himself, but that there were too many attackers.

According to the outlet, The New York-born star was taken to a nearby hospital after people heard the commotion and the manager of the facility contacted the police and emergency services.

The publication also shared a photo of Hernandez with some nasty facial injuries.

In the picture, his face appeared swollen and there was a visible gash on his cheek.

In addition, the outlet was told the rapper’s jaw, ribs and back were also injured in the violent attack.

A social media clip also showed a pair of men punching and kicking the singer while he was on the floor.

Another horrific video showed blood pouring down the rapper’s face as he left the bathroom and walked back into the gym.

Hernandez’s lawyer has shared his plans to contact federal authorities to coordinate added security following the incident.

The artist has a past of legal issues and misconduct that have made news in the past, though it is not clear if this attack was linked to any of his past troubles.

In 2020, Hernandez was released from custody from federal prison after he was sentenced in connection with racketeering back in 2019.

The star had reached a plea bargain in the case, after he was accused of multiple crimes while a member of a gang.
