Comedian Vic Reeves, 62, and model Nancy Sorrell, 47, tied the knot in 2003 and are planning to renew their wedding vows as their 20-year anniversary approaches. The mum-of-two said the couple faced criticism when they first started dating because of their 15-year age gap.
At the time, the pair couldn’t understand why people did not have faith in their relationship.
Proving the cynics wrong, Nancy and Vic are now planning to renew their wedding vows after two decades together.
The couple, who live in Kent, are parents to 15-year-old twins Nell and Elizabeth.
Vic is also dad to Alice, 28, and Louis, 24, from his first marriage.
In a new interview, Nancy opened-up about the doubt they faced when they got together in 2001.
“They said it was never going to last and that it was only going to last two weeks,” she told The Sun.
“They would point out the age difference but it was irrelevant to us.
“At the beginning it was tough. We didn’t understand why people kept saying our relationship would end. But we just ignored it,” the TV star added.
Nancy went on to tell the publication that they are still in love as much as ever.
The model met Vic, real name Jim Moir, when they both appeared on the BBC Two TV show I love the ’90s.
She was then invited to appear in the comic’s own show Shooting Stars, which he created and hosted with comedy partner Bob Mortimer, 62.
The pair immediately hit it off and the rest, as they say, is history.

In 2003, Nancy and Vic tied the knot at a lavish ceremony at Eastwell Manor, near Ashford in Kent.
Vic’s presenting pal Bob was the best man.
The couple asked guests, including their Shooting Stars co-stars Ulrika Jonsson and Mark Lamarr, to wear white in a break from tradition.
The following year, they made a joint appearance in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
Last month, Nancy celebrated her 47th birthday with her family at the seaside.
The mum-of-two regularly shares updates and pictures on Instagram in view of her 10,900 followers.
Alongside a loved-up snap with her husband on a sun-soaked beach, which she shared online, Nancy wrote: “Beautiful #birthday in #jersey.”
Another image showed her striking a pose in a brightly coloured bikini and showcasing her incredible figure.
