Julia Bradbury, 50, has issued a defiant retort after a Twitter user slammed the outfit she was wearing today. It comes after the former Countryfile presenter was discussing her love of a pretty walking route she takes in a video, which was posted in view of her 109,000 followers.

However, one viewer was distracted by the way the star was wearing her baseball cap while she chatted away to fans in the sun.

Julia had captioned her post: “Spending time to dwell on nature can improve your wellbeing- research shows that just 20 mins can improve your mood.

“Only 6% take the time to celebrate things like the first seasonal first day of spring.

“@nationaltrust is helping to plant more blossom trees #BlossomWatch #hanami.”

While she gazed up at the beautiful blossom trees, Julia looked chic in a classic black jacket and white T-shirt.

The television personality accessorised with a pair of headphones and a sporty back-to-front cap, to shield herself from the sun’s rays.

Unfortunately, one of Julia’s followers was quick to suggest that she shouldn’t have worn her hat in that particular fashion due to her age.

They penned in the comments section: “What’s with the hat?

“It looks b****y stupid. You’re 50 not 15!”

Objecting to the Twitter user’s remark, Julia promptly hit back by questioning “the cut off point” for “wearing clothes the way you want to”.

She retweeted the comment and wrote back: “Can someone please tell me the cut off point for wearing clothes the way you want to, whatever reasons you many have?

“Can one still wear denim at 60, or is that b****y stupid?

Fans rushed to the comments section of Julia’s post to share their support for the star.

One person wrote: “Wear what you feel like wearing.”

Another agreed: “I think the cut off point is whenever you b****y well want it to be.”

A third fan penned: “Here’s the thing I find. Women gain more confidence the older they get (I’m more confident at 30 than I was at 20). A confident woman is attractive and exudes power – power over herself and her choices. Twerps don’t handle that well. You do you Julia.”

A fourth person replied: “How rude is that. My view is wear what you like, we are allowed to make choices, not be dictated to by so called style gurus.

“I have never seen you in a bad outfit and my wife always comments on what you are wearing in a very positive way.”

A fifth commented: “No, sorry, @JuliaBradbury I can’t tell you; even if I could, I should not. But then these days some folks feel a need to criticise publicly. I take comfort that you probably and rightly don’t care one iota about that tweet.”
