The BTS members are all extremely talented individuals, and Jungkook is no exception. He has been praised for his singing and dancing skills, and despite not being an official rapper in BTS, he has rapping abilities as well.
Another thing Jungkook is known to be good at is bowling. Anyone who has tried bowling probably can tell that it is not as easy as it may look. So how did Jungkook get so get at bowling? There’s actually an interesting reason he became skilled at this game.
BTS’s Jungkook has been able to showcase his bowling skills
Jungkook does not bowl all the time, but fans have seen him showcase his bowling skills occasionally. The most well-known instance is on BTS’s reality show Run BTS!.
In 2017, the members dedicated a whole episode to bowling. They visited a bowling alley and held two games. During the first game, Jungkook played against the rest of the group, and he ended up winning. During the second game, Jungkook joined forces with V and Jin to play against the other four members. Jungkook’s team lost that time, but it did not detract from the fact that he was still a very good bowler.
A few months before the episode premiered, he also posted a video on Twitter of himself getting a strike.
Jungkook once explained how he became so good at bowling
Some people might think Jungkook was born with bowling talents, but this is not actually the case. During a live stream in 2016, he revealed that he had started practicing bowling “in a professional manner.”
Jungkook explained that he was inspired to work on his bowling skills because of his father, saying, “Before bowling became excluded in the Olympics, my father had prepared to be a professional bowler. He used to throw perfect games and scored a perfect 300.”
Jungkook’s father even recalled the story of how he achieved 12 strikes in a row the year before Jungkook was born.
“He told me this story the day before yesterday,” the BTS member said. “That’s now exactly why I started bowling. It’s kind of cool. When you bowl well, you look really cool.”
Jungkook, then, described a little bit of what he was doing to improve his bowling skills. He shared, “I’m learning from a coach… I got my posture corrected… When it comes to bowling, you have to make the same posture. The key is to get used to the right posture.”
What other things is Jungkook skilled at?
Bowling is not the only non-musical talent Jungkook has. In fact, he is known as the “Golden Maknae” in BTS (“maknae” is a Korean word that describes the youngest person of a group) because he has so many talents.
For example, Jungkook is a skilled filmmaker. He has filmed and edited some BTS behind-the-scenes videos, and recently he even directed their music video for the song “Life Goes On.”
Additionally, Jungkook is also great at gaming and drawing.
