This hotel chain is launching a 11:59pm checkout option

Hotels are gearing up to open their doors again in less than two weeks.

But after months of not being able to visit, it’s easy to forget that nights away can sometimes come with a downside – an early morning checkout.

The good news is that one hotel group is determined to take the sting out of these early wake-up calls – by offering guests the chance to check out at 11.59pm.

This means visitors will get an extra 12-13 hours to play with – extending a 20 hour-stay (from check-in to check-out time) to a potential 33 hours.

So there’s more time for sightseeing, lying in, exploring the local area or enjoying the facilities the hotel has to offer.

It also means there’s no need to carry your bags or suitcases around town before you go home – which everyone knows can be incredibly annoying.

IHG hotels – which includes the Kimpton, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza brands – have launched the ‘UK’s Latest Check Out’ initiative in a bid to get more guests through the doors.

In total 75 hotels are participating in the scheme, including Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower hotel, voco Oxford Thames and Crowne Plaza London Docklands – and the offer will be available on mid-week stays only, from 17 May to 2 June.

If you don’t fancy a hotel stay, The Hoxton has launched a brand new camper van road trip experience for summer, which involves travelling around the UK’s south coast in a custom VW camper.

Or, if you’re struggling for travel inspiration, this unlikely seaside town has been voted the best in the UK – and it’s definitely one to add to your summer bucket list.
