GREECE should be at the top of your list if you're thinking of an early beach autumn getaway that's not too far away.

Most islands will have an average temperature of around 25C in September, with the lowest reaching around 19C.
Temperatures start to drop in October, though, with an average daily maximum of 23C and minimum of 17C.
