A CRUISE ship worker has shared a sneak peek into the areas of the ship where guests are banned.

Kookie, known as cruisingwithkay on TikTok, posts videos about her daily life working on board a cruise ship.



She works on a cruise ship for seven months of the year andworks every day of the week during that time.

In a recent video, she gave her followers behind-the-scenes access into areas of the ship where guests aren't allowed to go – including a secret bar and supermarket.

She said: "Today I'm going to give you a behind-the-scenes-tour of our crew areas.

"In our crew bar we have a computer lab where we can complete our training or just surf the internet."

The video panned to a bar area with green leather sofas and low-lit lighting.

Kookie added: "The crew bar is a place where we can relax during the day.

"We have pool tables, there are video games, and you can grab a drink outside back deck, where we also host our parties, or there's one [a bar] inside with some fancy coffee machines.

"We have a nice lounge area with instruments where some people like to play live. In the back we have darts, table football, and ping pong.

"Last, but not least, is our mini grocery store called the slopchest.

"The slopchest is like a miniature Walmart (supermarket) and we have everything in here."

Kookie showed rows of shelves, which featured essential items such as deodorant, toothpaste, hairspray and laundry detergent.

Crew members can also buy snacks too including crisps, sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks.

She added: "It's really cool too because some of the snacks are from other countries like the Philippines."

At the end of the video, Kookie took her purchases to the till where she paid for the items.

The video has had more than 200,000 views, but several people didn't understand why Kookie had to fork out for her shopping.

In the comments, she wrote: "We have a separate cash account where we can put money on our card and it gets deducted from this account."

Other users commented on the behind-the-scenes areas that Kookie shared in her video.

One person wrote: "Wait, that's so cool, I didn't know they had a little supermarket."

Another added: "That's so awesome."

Kookie isn't the first cruise ship employee to share what her life is like onboard a cruise ship.
