BRITS are busy planning group getaways for when travel restrictions start to lift in the UK.
UK-based Big Cottages, who specialise in large group property bookings, has seen a large increase in demand, with some groups as big as 32 people looking to holiday together.
From June 21, according to Boris Johnson’s roadmap to ease lockdown, the nation could be allowed to return to a relatively ‘normal’ version of life as all legal limits on social contact are hopefully lifted.
Many are taking the opportunity to book a getaway with groups of friends and family, to make up for all the lost time together over the past 12 months.
Matt Fox, founder of Big Cottages said: "There has been a significant increase in large group bookings as we plan to socialise with our friends and family once again."
"Bookings for seven or more guests have been extremely popular, with a 188 per cent increase in bookings for groups of eight and a 131 per cent increase in bookings for groups of eleven.
"As we move closer to the roadmap checkpoints and beyond, we only expect larger bookings to increase."
