Nicky and Danny juggle looking after their five children, caring for their own disabled parents and working as kitchen porters in a local cafe – with Nicky sleeping on the sofa in the family home so her children can have the beds.
During the episode, she is given the chance to experience life in the mansion of ex-boxer and beauty entrepreneur Maxine McCarthy, who was moved by her story and offered to help Nicky into a change of career.
As Maxine makes the offer to Nicky, the mother-of-five cannot contain her joy and breaks down in tears as she thanks Maxine for bringing her one step closer to achieving her dream of starting her own business.

”I’ll put the work in,’ she vows.
Maxine says: ‘Every day, I found out something about you both I thought, I can’t help in that way but maybe I can help in that way.
‘I’ve gone to watch what you do and what you’re interested in and obviously the makeup side and I’ve met your tutors.’
Turning to Nicky, who specialises in cosmetics, she says: ‘You’re very artistic… it got me thinking – I put my business head on – and thought she’s not going to make much money, it’s very competitive…
‘If I was to give you a certain amount of training and I mentor you to go on to be successful because I like a challenge… I wanted to give you about £10,000 worth of training.’
She also tells Danny, who is training to become a hairdresser, that she will cover the cost of his apprenticeship if he finds a place.
‘Speaking to people, you’ve got the hunger, because when you’re here you can’t go down further,’ she tells the couple.
‘The only way is up, I want to make you be the best you can be.’

Maxine also admits that she initially judged the busy parents when she first came into their small house and noticed that they sleep on the sofa because there aren’t enough beds to go around. However, she soon realised how much the couple had to juggle.
The millionaire, who is used to driving a Lamborghini, is given £89.24 to last a whole week – with the millionaire saying she’d ‘spend that on a starter’.
‘It’s on a different level,’ Maxine tells the couple. ‘Your struggles are about food, about electricity – mine are about upkeeping what I’ve created.’
In contrast, Nicky, Danny and their five children are given a whopping £1,500 to spend, and as it nears the end of the week, realise they still have £800 left over.
Struggling to break their frugal spending habits, the pair decided to invest it in beauty supplies, a laptop and printer for their career.

‘She comes from a council estate, the same as ourselves,’ Nicky says. ‘And she worked herself up… it makes you feel like no matter where you are, you can achieve it.’

‘This will help Maxine learn the value of money… Because sometimes it’s like, ping, ping, ping!’ Chor jokes, miming a credit card being tapped.
Maxine also admits that she ‘doesn’t even look’ at her gas meter after being told about the top-up energy cards Nicky and Danny use.
Maxine and Chor also struggle to get through through their weekly shop – both going over a self-imposed £30 grocery budget – as they blow nearly half their weekly stipend on food.
‘It’s just not much to choose,’ Chor says. ‘I feel the pain for this family.’
‘This is below the breadline,’ Maxine adds. ‘It’s poverty. They’ve got nothing.’
She adds: ‘I was pretty judgmental when I’d come in, I thought maybe they could just do a bit more, you know, with the house.
‘I understand that time is an issue… Sometimes you don’t kno2 how to get out of it.’
