Let’s be honest: we all love the look of a freshly styled ‘do, but sometimes you just don’t have the time or willpower to style your whole head of hair. Which is why TikTok is an absolute gold mine for time-saving beauty hacks, which pop up again and again on the app.

One of the latest beauty hacks to catch our eye is a nifty method of hair curling that styles your whole head of hair by splitting it into only three sections. Yes, we did say just three.

In the viral clip, TikTok user @karrielouiset can be seen dividing her hair into just three sections to show off the method, in reply to another user’s comment: “3 sections??? Why am I here doing 20: what straighteners are these”.

Karrie notes in the captions that she starts with hair that’s freshly washed and dried. Her instructions are then "section off the front top piece; curl, hold and pin" into a quiff at the front of the top of her head.

Next, she moves on to one half of the remaining hair that hasn’t been sectioned. "Get each section, hold, twist your hair around the hair straightener, then twist the hair straightener half way and pull down," she writes. "Bring to the top and hold for ten seconds and let it drop."

"Let cool and brush well," she concludes, before showing off the big, bouncy blow dry-worthy results. Unsurprisingly, the video has racked up almost 1,000 comments, many of which are wowed by the results.

If you try this for yourself, be sure to use a good heat protectant spray to shield your hair from damage, like or the Tresemmé Pro Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray,£2 here, or ghd Bodyguard Spray,£18 here.

It is worth pointing out that if you have very thick or textured hair, you may find that three sections isn’t quite enough to style your hair in the same way.

But, hey, it’s definitely worth a go for results that look anything like these, especially if your hair is similar to Karrie’s!
