Popular chocolate advent calendars that only contain ONE of their own festive treats

POPULAR advent calendars from well-known brands contain just ONE of their own chocolates, The Sun can reveal.

Seasonal countdowns branded as Galaxy and Maltesers contain those flavoured chocs only on the very last day.

In our taste test of popular Christmas advent calendars we found that the chocs behind 23 of the 24 window are NOT Galaxy or Maltesters.

Instead shoppers might be shocked to find just a simple milk chocolate treat each day in the run up to Christmas.

On the Galaxy advent calendar it says that it contains "smooth milk chocolate moulded shapes".

It's not until Christmas Eve that the door for December 24 reveals a larger Galaxy flavoured chocolate.

The packaging for the calendar says it's a "Special Galaxy® chocolate" for Christmas Eve.

And the chocolates in the Maltesers calendar each day through December are plain milk chocolates too.

It's not until December 24 again that you get a larger chocolate that is Maltesers flavoured.

The calendar says that it has a "Maltesers® mini reindeer" along with "milk chocolate shapes for the countdown to Christmas".

Both advent calendars are made by Mars and cost £2 each.

Other calendars we tested with branded names including Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Heroes and Lindt had the named chocolates behind each door every day.

We've asked Mars for comment and will update when we hear back.

We previously revealed that Mars was scrapping its popular Celebrations advent calendar this year, disappointing fans.
