Inside Phillip Schofield’s birthday celebrations as Holly Willoughby’s children bake him a cake

Phillip Schofield turned 59 on Thursday and although he had to go into work, it still looked to be one of the funnest lockdown birthdays on offer.

When the silver fox arrived at the ITV studios to film This Morning he was greeted with an array of surprises by his colleagues.

At a time when most of us are just blearily sipping on coffee, Phillip had already begun his celebrations.

Let’s take a look at what went down…

The corridor was decorated with blue lettering which read ‘Happy Birthday Phillip’ and was surrounded by blue and white balloons.

He captioned the sweet scene: “I love these people thank you @thismorning”.

The make up room at the studios in White City was also filled with colourful balloons, and there was a large bunch of flowers that is possibly also in honour of Phil’s birthday.

But it wasn’t just decorations that were organised for Phillip’s enjoyment, as the star was also treated to a delicious festive breakfast. This included two bacon sandwiches, as well as sausages and a brightly coloured fruit salad.

Then after breakfast Phillip was sang Happy Birthday by the This Morning team, and blew out the candles on a cake made by co-host Holly Willoughby’s children Chester and Belle.

Holly also captioned a snap of Phil receiving the cake, writing: "Happy birthday to this gorgeous human… love you to bits @schofe forever my partner in laughter…."

Phillip was treated to his very own First Class British Airways experience live on This Morning.

Phillip tucked into a very fancy three-course meal from his pretend First Class seat while live on This Morning.
