Flat with garden was listed for a bargain £30,000 – but there's a serious catch | The Sun

THIS flat with a garden was listed for a bargain £30,000 – but there's a serious catch.

The property in Lanarkshire, which sold at auction, boasts a spacious living area and one large bedroom.

The auction's highest bidder secured the home for £31,500 but they haven't got quite the deal they were expecting.

With it only being a 30-minute drive to Glasgow, it sounds like a great investment for the new owner – but, there is a reason it went for the price it did.

There is a giant hole in one part of the home and an entirely missing floor in another section.

Described as completely derelict, there is only one wooden floor intact and barely any walls left.

Currently uninhabitable, the cheap purchase price won't matter when it will cost around £700 for the resin flooring to be laid, according to HomeHow.

And then prices vary depending on what type of flooring you want and the size of the area – prices for carpet start from £90 and hardwood starts at £550.

From the pictures, it also looks like a new kitchen needs fitting as well – if you were to get one installed, prices start at around £10,000.

And if you wanted a new bathroom too, that will set you back about for £6,000.

Despite the clear challenges, the property was snapped up after being auctioned by Online Property Auctions Scotland Limited, Glasgow.
