HER Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, marking the end of her 70 year regin.
The nation will now undergo a prolonged period of mourning.
Preparations already underway for the Queen’s state funeral, which will take place at Westminster Abbey in the next 10 days.
And the coronation of King Charles III will follow shortly after.
The specific days of the state funeral and the King's coronation have yet to be confirmed.
The day of the funeral has not been officially declared a bank holiday.

If the funeral falls on a weekday, the government does not plan to order employers to give staff the day off.
This leaves a question over what will close, and what will remain open, on the day.
Right now, all cinemas, shops and schools remain open as usual.

The cinemas are all operating their usual opening hours which will vary by location – so it's best to check directly with your local screening house.
Customers can check the films showing today at Vue cinemas on their website.
Odeon's website also shows the latest film listing across its venues nationwide.
Will cinemas close on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral?
If the day is declared a bank holiday then cinemas may choose to operate reduced opening hours or shut their doors completely.
Today, the government advised: "Some businesses may wish to consider closing or postponing events, especially on the day of the State Funeral, however, this is at the discretion of individual businesses."
It remains unclear as to whether cinemas will continue operating as normal on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
Once the date for the state funeral has been declared, cinemas will set out their own plans and we'll up date this story to reflect this.
Are shops, banks and schools closed today?
Shops, pubs, restaurants and gyms are allowed to remain open today and they will not be obliged to close on the day of the Queen's funeral, however some may choose to do so as a mark of respect.
Some businesses may have decided to close as a mark of respect.
For example, Selfridges has announced that it will be closed today (September 9).
If the day of the state funeral is later declared a bank holiday then retailers may choose to operate reduced opening hours.
Banks and the London Stock Exchange will close for England and Wales if a bank or public holiday is announced.

However, Schools have been ordered to stay open as the nation mourns the Queen.
