Alicia Silverstone is “still” co-sleeping with her 11-year-old son, Bear.
The “Clueless” star, 45, spoke on “The Ellen Fisher Podcast” Tuesday about her attachment parenting style, revealing, “Bear and I still sleep together.”
The actress, who shares the preteen with ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, joked that she would “get in trouble for” her comment.
“I don’t really care,” Silverstone said, laughing off possible critics.
The California native went on to describe the “elimination communication” tactics she used while raising Bear, explaining that she rarely used diapers when potty training the little one.
Instead, Silverstone “watch[ed] his cues” to know when he needed to go to the bathroom.
“It’s so awesome. It’s so easy,” the “Crush” star explained. “When I was done feeding him, he would go to the bathroom in the toilet. When he woke up from a nap, he went to the bathroom.
“There was a period of time where I was watching him naked and watching the cues,” she added. “The cues part for me was really fun because I thought that he was flirting with me because he would do this little smile. That’s when he had to pee.”
While Jarecki, 45, initially called Silverstone’s methods “hippie s–t,” she noted that he eventually “loved” the process.
The Golden Globe nominee has been vocal about her “alternative” parenting choices over the years, from raising Bear as a vegan to bathing with him.
The “Miss Match” alum responded to the backlash she has received on Tuesday, saying, “I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is scared of nature and love.”
