The new chocolate orange doughnuts are made from scratch by Morrisons bakers in-store every day. Each doughnut is hand-filled with rich chocolate orange filling and finished with a dusting of icing sugar.
The new doughnuts launched in stores on Wednesday and shoppers can buy a pack of five for 50p, working out at just 10p per doughnut.
Customers are delighted and cannot wait to get their hands on them.
@newfoodsuk uploaded a photo of the new doughnuts on their Instagram page, captioned: “New Chocolate & Orange Doughnuts now at @morrisons. These are absolutely delicious and have to be up there with our all time favourite Morrisons Doughnuts, plus for 50p you can’t go wrong!”
The post has received more than 8,000 likes and over a thousand comments.
Customers were delighted with the news and expressed how excited they were to give them a try. One eager shopper said: “I’m going to have to get on these!” And another said: “I’m in heaven.”
Andy Clarke, In-store Bakery Manager at Morrisons said: “We are always looking to add new and exciting flavours to our bakery range. We know that our customers love the chocolate orange trend, so it made sense to combine it with our renowned doughnuts.”
Chocolate orange seems to have become the flavour of the moment. This Easter, several brands have jumped on the bandwagon and added chocolate orange versions of their Easter eggs.
Cadbury Orange Buttons Giant Egg has been very popular so far this year. The giant milk chocolate egg is infused with orange oil and comes with a bag of Dairy Milk Orange Giant buttons. They are available to buy from Tesco now for £10.
Another favourite this year is Terry’s Chocolate Orange’s Easter egg. The egg is made from milk chocolate and flavoured with real orange. It also comes with two bars of Terry’s Chocolate Orange and can be bought now at Tesco for £3.

There was also excitement last month when Cadbury announced Twirl Orange would be making a permanent return to shops and newsagents across the UK, with a retail price of 69p.
Twirl Orange had previously been released as a limited edition in 2020. Due to enormous demand, the bars were incredibly difficult to get hold of.
Radhika Pai, brand manager for Cadbury Twirl Orange at Mondelez said: “Over the past two years we have seen how much the nation truly loves Twirl Orange, so we just had to make the limited-edition bar unlimited to ensure no fan misses out.”
Other orange-flavoured treats include chocolate orange fingers, mini eggs, buttons, Toblerone and even chocolate orange flavoured gin!
