Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Aldi have asked customers to check their cupboards for a number of items. Food products have been recalled due to allergy and salmonella fears.

Tesco

Free From Toffee & Vanilla Cones

The retailer has asked Britons to check for the dessert as it contains undeclared allergens.

A statement said: “We are recalling packs of Tesco Free From Toffee & Vanilla Cones 4x110ml, with a best before end date of 07/2022.

“This is because they may contain milk, which is not declared on the packaging.”

Customers with an intolerance should check for packs with the best before date of July 2022 and the batch code L10233L1.

The product can be returned to stores for a full refund.

Asda

Asda Vegetable Cous Cous

The side was recalled due to the possible presence of salmonella.

This can cause symptoms such as sickness, fever and stomach cramps and shoppers have been asked to return the affected items for a refund.

A statement said: “If you have purchased Asda Vegetable Cous Cous, do not eat the product, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.”

The affected packs have best before dates up to and including June 3, 2021 and the barcode 505478157846.

Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie

A warning has been put out for the frozen meal as it contains milk not mentioned on the label.

Anyone who has bought the pack with an allergy or intolerance should return it, and all date codes are affected.

Sainsbury’s

Knoppers Wafers

Sainsbury’s has recalled the biscuits as peanuts, soya and milk are not consistently declared on packaging.

This affects batches B12N and B12M B16C, and the best before dates of July 19, 2021 and August 16, 2021.

Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips

The crisps contain milk which is not listed on the ingredient list. All batches are affected with the best before date of September 11, 2021.

A statement explained: “We are asking customers who have purchased these products not to eat them and to call the customer Careline on 0800 274777.

“No other products have been affected by this issue. PepsiCo would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”

Both Sainsbury’s products can be returned by visiting the store or contacting the careline.

Aldi

Roosters Breaded Chicken Goujons

Some batches of the chicken product may contain salmonella and shoppers are urged not to consume them.

Aldi customers should look for the batch codes 20300B and 20323B and best before dates of October 2021 and November 2022.

“Our supplier is recalling this product due to the possible presence of salmonella,” Aldi said in a statement.

“Customers are advised not to eat this product.

“Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.”
