PRIDE month 2021 has officially kicked off, with countries across the globe uniting to push for LGBTQIA+ rights.

What does bigender mean?
Bigender is a gender identity that can be translated as 'two genders' or 'double gender'.
People identifying as bigender experience two gender identities, identifying as both simultaneously or varying between each identity.
Bigender people can have any sexual preference.
What are the bigender pronouns?
Bigender people can use any pronouns they like.
They can switch between she/her/hers, he/him/his and they/them/theirs.
Neopronouns, that avoid expressing any form of gender, including xe/xem/xyr can also be used.
Is bigender a non-binary gender identity?
Bigender is not a non-binary gender identity when it includes a male and/or female expression, as these genders as referred to as 'binary'.
However, bigender IS a non-binary identity when it does not include male and female.
Non-binary individuals experience a gender identity that is neither exclusively woman or man or is in between or beyond both genders.
What other non-binary identities are there?
Some non-binary gender identities include, but are not limited to:
- Agender aka Genderless, Non-gender – Having no gender identity or no gender (sometimes used interchangeably with Gender Neutral)
- Androgyne aka Androgynous gender – Identifying or presenting between the binary options of man and woman or masculine and feminine
- Genderfluid, Pangender, Polygender – Moving between two or more different gender identities or expressions at different times
- Gender Neutral aka Neutral Gender – Having a neutral gender identity or expression with a preference for gender neutral language
- Genderqueer aka Gender Queer – Non-normative gender identity or expression
- Intergender aka Intergendered – Having a gender identity or expression that falls between the two binary options of man and woman
- Third Gender aka Othergender – Having a gender identity or expression that is not defined in terms of the two binary options (male/female, masculine/feminine) but entirely on its own terms. Used in Native cultures.
