We had a potato chip wall at our wedding – guests said it was ‘heaven’ & it’s such a cheap way to feed people

WHEN it comes to weddings, brides are always looking for ways to make their event stand out and feel like a fairytale.

Whether you decide to book a great entertainment option or serve cocktails in a unique glass, there are many ways to make your guests feel special.

One bride and groom, a U.K. couple named Philip and Michelle O’Mahony, wanted to offer their friends something fun without breaking the bank.

Speaking to Newsweek, Michelle said that they came up with the idea to create a wall of potato chip bags featuring different flavors “that you had as a child that you don’t always see in shops today.”

The idea came to the bride after she saw a photo of a similar set up online.

"Everyone loved it, it was at the far end of the room so initially I don't think people realized what it was.

“It stayed full most of the evening but as the night came to a close, guests cleared the wall to go back to hotel rooms and carry on the party."

The next morning, Michelle was told that her chip wall went viral on the internet—receiving over 42,000 likes on Twitter and 1,800 Retweets.

"My phone has just been going crazy with people sending links to all the pages where it's being shared," she said.

Many people online were delighted with the idea:

"What a great idea," one user wrote.

"I'd eat them all," added another.

Multiple people called it “genius” while another said: "OK, I thought my wedding day was perfect but now I see it was missing something."

Others, however, weren’t the biggest fans:

“A magician would have been more memorable and probably not more expensive," one person wrote.

“Dear me, the wedding buffets have really gone down since I last went to a wedding," added another.

A third said it was “awful” and looked like something that should be served at a “kid’s party.”

The bride, however, wasn’t dismayed by any negativity, and said guests had plenty of other food options to choose from:

“We had a savory salty bar when guests arrived. We had a sit down three course dinner. A sweet table, donut wall and an evening buffet along with wedding cake."
