Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family in 2011 when she tied the knot with Prince William. Since then, the Duchess has worn some of the most beautiful outfits, ranging from ball gowns to summer dresses to jumpers and jeans. She will regularly add meaningful pieces of jewellery to her looks, whether that be an heirloom or affordable pieces from her favourite high-street shops.

Being a member of the Royal Family means the Duchess has access to some of the most beautiful pieces of jewellery.

These include those borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II as well as her engagement ring, which belonged to Princess Diana.

For more than a decade, the Duchess has inspired people’s style around the globe, with her pieces of clothing and jewellery instantly selling out.

Lorna Haddon, head of diamonds and jewellery at Beaverbrooks, has shared some of Kate’s most iconic jewellery moments throughout the years.

She said: “Of course we have to start with Kate’s most iconic jewellery piece – this breathtaking engagement ring holds a stunning 12-carat oval blue sapphire, surrounded by 14 smaller solitaire diamonds. The sapphire and diamonds are set in a slim 18-carat white gold band, which accentuates the central piece and draws the eye into those incredible stones.

“A family heirloom, Kate’s ring once belonged to Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, and has incredible sentimental value to the Prince. William explained that by Kate wearing his mother’s engagement ring, he felt that Diana was with them on their wedding day.”

Kate is no stranger to expensive pieces of jewellery and recently opted for a set which cost more than £10,000.

In a recent video speaking of the Nursing Now campaign, the Duchess styled the look with a diamond necklace and earrings set.

Her ‘Empress’ white gold and diamond drop earrings from Mappin & Webb retail for around £1,500.

Although not the most expensive jewellery piece in her collection, Kate regularly recycles them, and first debuted them at the christening of Princess Charlotte.

Her Asprey necklace, in the ‘Daisy Heritage’ style, sells for more than £9,000.

As well as dressing up her looks with designer brands, Kate also regularly wears high-street brands, with pieces from Missoma and Monica Vinader.

The Duchess was even seen wearing a pair of Accessorise earrings a couple of years ago.

Lorna added: “Even in the midst of a global pandemic, Kate has still found ways to wow us with her sophisticated style.

“We all know Kate is no stranger to designer high-street shopping, often wearing affordable pieces time and time again – and it’s just one of the many reasons we love her!

“We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for subtle gold jewellery over the past 12 months, as sometimes popping on even the simplest earring can increase our confidence and stop us checking our reflection on Zoom calls.”

Some of her favourite pieces of jewellery from these high-street brands include her ‘Siren’ earrings from Monica Vinader.

Although they retail at around £125, they are a cheaper pair of earrings in the Duchess’ collection.

They quickly became one of the retailer’s bestsellers after Kate debuted them and they are a constant sell-out.

She will also wear high-street clothing, including blazers from Zara which make a regular appearance on Kate.
