Kate Middleton has a secret code name and she once accidentally gave away what it is | The Sun

KATE Middleton is one of the most famous women in the world, so it is understandable that she may wish for some privacy at times.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to have secret code names that they use during trips or their personal time.

According to the Express, Kate is known as Daphne Clark when she goes away, and William goes by the alias of Danny Collins.

Both have the initials DC, similar to their Duke and Duchess of Cambridge titles.

And it’s not the only name Kate reportedly uses when she wants to be low-key.

The Mirror claimed that the royal mum-of-three accidentally let slip one of her monikers during a shopping trip in Wales in 2010.

Kate was living in a cottage in Anglesey while William was a search and rescue pilot at nearby RAF Valley.

The royal mum was said to have visited a local watersports shop and found a wetsuit she wanted to buy.

Shopkeeper Dave Buckland, who didn’t recognise Kate, was asked to put it on hold so she could come back to buy it later, and Kate left him the name of “Mrs Cambridge”.

An unnamed witness told the Mail On Sunday in 2012: "He was looking straight at her and actually commented that it was quite an unusual surname.

Meanwhile, Prince George once gave a stranger a fake name when they asked for his.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s young son was out with his grandmother Carole Middleton when a dog walker came across him playing with his younger sister Charlotte in a stream near the Middleton family home in Berkshire.

The woman, who did not want to be named, said: “I was asked by a police minder not to take a photo of the children, which I didn’t, but George started stroking my dog.

“Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it.

"To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely.”

The event took place before Meghan and Harry called their son Archie, and it is not known whether it was a family nickname for George or he simply gave an alias.
