I’m a foodie, how to make Air Fryer roast potatoes for Christmas – there’s a secret ingredient for the perfect crunch | The Sun

WHATEVER your favourite part of a Christmas dinner is, there’s no denying that the roast potatoes are in the top tier.

So in preparation to get the perfect fluffy but crispy spuds for December 25th, one keen cook decided to try out a recipe in her Air Fryer – and couldn’t believe the results.

Michelin-trained chef turned “potato Queen” Poppy O’Toole, whose TikTok profile is @poppycooks, explained in a recent video: “I’ve been testing out some delicious Air Fryer recipes.

“So, of course, I had to do some roast potatoes – these gorgeous, golden, fluffy, crunchy roasties which are perfect in the Air Fryer.

She continued to lift the lid on the tried and tested method, as she went through it step by step with her 2.7 million followers.

Filming herself peeling the spuds, Poppy continued: “First of all, you are going to get some Maris Pipers – a nice and starchy potato – and cut them into however many you like, but I did four.”

Once the potatoes were prepped, Poppy revealed her surprising secret ingredient, which she placed in the bottom of the Air Fryer ready to be cooked.

She went on to explain: “Get them in the Air Fryer with a little bit of water at the bottom if you can.

“That’s going to help steam them and get them cooked all the way through.

“They’re going in at 170 degrees celsius for ten minutes to get them steamed.
