I’m a cleaning whizz and you should never put these six things in the dryer – they’ll RUIN your clothes | The Sun

A CLEANING whizz has shared the top items of clothing you should avoid putting in the dryer for fear they’ll be unwearable.

Caroline explained that there are a total of six things you should instead hang to air dry.

Taking to her social media account, she told viewers: “Here’s some things you shouldn’t put in the dryer.”

The first thing on her list was swimwear as it will fade the colour and “destroy the fabric” of the bikinis and one-piece swimsuits you’ve bought.

Next, she said you should avoid putting your active wear in the dryer.

“Air dry instead so the activewear can keep their shape and wicking qualities,” she told viewers.

Meanwhile, slippers should also not be placed into the dryer as the heat can cause the rubber soles “to separate and melt”. Instead, you should be air drying these.

The next item she said shouldn’t be put in the dryer is reusable shopping bags as well as backpacks.

She said the dryer can cause the material to shrink and get worn out quickly.

Delicate fabrics such as silk are a definite no for the dryer too as the heat can “create wrinkles that are hard to remove”.

And finally, the last item on her list is suede and leather.
