I’m 44 & look just like my daughter, 21 – we go on dates together, blokes think I’m catfishing them when I reveal my age

A HOT mum who looks identical to her 21-year-old daughter has lifted the lid on her romantic life – including going on double dates with her child.

Joleen Diaz, 44, from California, puts her youthful glow down to old-fashioned clean living and gets younger men sliding into her DMs on a regular basis.

However, dating isn't as straightforward as it seems for the internet appointed "hot mum" – as she claims people keep reporting her Hinge profile because they think she's a catfish.

Originally from Guam, the high school teacher and mum-of-one moved to California when Meilani was 10 and has been single since splitting from her ex 14 years ago.

Joleen said: “I’m actually on Hinge but I’ve had my account deleted several times.

“It’s funny, I think people think I’m a fake account and report me.

“I could link my Instagram to my profile, which would likely help prove that it’s really me but I don’t do it because I think my social media doesn’t present the simple, down-to-earth person I am.

“I’d like to be able to connect with someone and then explain my social media to them once they know me a bit more."

Joleen isn't short for male suitors, with over 565,000 followers on Instagram and they often ask her out on dates.

She said: “I do get younger men messaging me on my social media.

“The majority of the messages are very polite and most are very complimentary and positive about me promoting a positive lifestyle.

“They do ask to go out on a date, maybe dinner or a hike, but I know that this is just curiosity and not a real intent on pursuing anything more than the narrative they think of me.

“When younger men ask me out on dates, I find it equally as flattering as men my age or older asking me out.

“I think it takes a lot of courage to approach someone and ask them to meet with you one-on-one.

“I think some younger men tend to fantasise a bit more about what it would be like dating someone older, where men my age or older are more pragmatic and looking for someone to enjoy simple things in life."

However, Joleen isn’t interested in dating a toyboy.

The mum said: “Age isn’t a deal-breaker for me, it’s about finding someone I’m able to help continue becoming a better person and growing, and them doing the same for me.

“But I don’t want to date a toyboy.

“I would never even remotely consider dating someone who is young enough to be friends with my daughter.”

Joleen and Meilani are so close that when they are both in relationships they love going on double dates together, despite their 23-year age gap.

The mum said: “When we are both seeing people we will often go bowling, to the movies, hikes, to the beach.

“We haven’t gone on a double date recently but she and I are very close so we definitely will again.

“Melani asks for my advice on dating all the time.

“I love that she trusts in the advice I give, I feel like she’s well-balanced in dating and I’m glad my experiences can help her out.”

I do get younger men messaging me on my social media.  I think some younger men tend to fantasise a bit more about what it would be like dating someone older.

If anyone out there is considering sliding into Joleen’s DMs, she has some stipulations on the type of men she prefers.

The mum added: “I gravitate towards ambitious, motivated men, someone who is confident, has a positive outlook and can communicate well.

“They must be able to contribute equally, both financially and emotionally, in a relationship and they have to love dogs as I have a golden retriever.

“They also must love being outdoors and being physically active.”

Joleen revealed how she has maintained her youthful looks, and said: “I’ve always lived a healthy, active lifestyle. I rarely drink alcohol, I get a lot of rest, and eat a balanced, healthy diet.

"I religiously take care of my skin, and everyday wash my face in the morning and before I go to bed.”

Joleen also said one of the secrets to her looking the same age as her daughter was starting early with skincare.

The gorgeous Californian mummy explained: “Living in California, sun protection is naturally key.

“I absolutely use sunscreen, every day, even on cloudy, rainy days. I also use a vitamin C serum day and night.”

Joleen has already started Meilani on the same rigorous routine.
