THE APPRENTICE star Karren Brady is set to be a first-time grandmother as her daughter Sophia Peschisolido announced the news of her pregnancy last week.
Sophia and her fiancé Frankie Makin took to social media to share the happy update as they wrote: “Our greatest blessing due 2024”.
Karren isn’t the only unexpected celebrity to find themselves taking up the role of grandparent though – there are plenty of other stars you may not have realised are at that stage.

At the age of just 42, Kym became a first-time grandparent after her daughter Emilie welcomed her first child.
Sharing the news on social media at the time, she wrote: “Last night was a night I will never forget. I became a 'Loli' for the first time!!!
"My beautiful daughter was an absolute warrior and her partner and I were the best birthing team we could be!!”
Just four years later, Kym’s son David welcomed his first child, a baby boy, named Clayton Lenny David Cunliffe.

“Introducing…..Clayton Lenny David Cunliffe!!! Our beautiful new grandson was welcomed into the world on 17.08.22 weighing a whopping 10lb 7oz!!” Kym wrote to announce the news.
The now-47-year-old added how proud she is to be the little one’s ‘Yaya’ – the endearing term she’s coined for herself.
Mama June
Former Toddlers & Tiaras star Mama June has developed quite the reputation thanks to her on-screen relationship with daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
And while she may be known for her TV roles, there’s a lot more to Mama June than meets the eye as she’s the grandmother of a whopping six kids.
The 44-year-old’s eldest daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell was the first to give birth to a little baby girl, who she named Kaitlyn. She welcomed her second child, Kylee, four years later in 2016.
One year later, Mama June’s other daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon gave birth to a baby girl named Ella Grace.
And four years after this, she had her baby boy named Bentley Jameson.
In May of 2022, Lauryn gave birth to twins – a boy named Sylus Ray and a girl named Stella Renae.
It means Mama June, 44, is a grandmother to six children in total and while the family might not be as close as she hopes, they make it work.
“Do they still need their mother, do I still need them? Yes, because that is our small little circle," she explained,” she told Distractify.
Jessie Wallace
EastEnders star Jessie is best known for her role of Kat Slater, being at the heart of some of the soap’s most dramatic story lines.
But in her private life, she’s a doting grandmother to a beautiful little baby boy, SJ.
The 52-year-old’s daughter Tallulah gave birth to the little one in March 2022 at the age of just 17.
It’s been reported that only Jessie’s close circle of friends and family knew about the pregnancy and when SJ finally arrived she was over the moon.
“Welcome to the world, my grandson SJ. You are loved, cherished, and adored,” she wrote on social media.
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon, 71, is the proud grandmother of five children and openly talks about her role as Nana.
Back in 2012, right before her son Jack welcomed his first daughter Pearl, Sharon insisted: “I am going to be the grandmother from hell because I am going to spoil this baby so bad.”
“My son and Lisa are going to be like, ‘Get her out of here!’” she added to People magazine.
Jack went on to have two more children, Andy and Minnie, with ex-wife Lisa Stelly.
In 2019, Jack began dating his now-wife Aree Gearhart, who he welcomed daughter Maple with in July 2022.
Meanwhile, Sharon’s daughter Kelly and her boyfriend Sid Wilson welcomed their first child, Sidney, together at the end of 2022.
Sharon posted a photo of herself with her five grandchildren, sharing a rare look at the youngest member of the family.
“My Cup Runneth Over,” she captioned it, sharing her joy of being a grandmother.
Anna Wintour
Vogue editor-in-chief, who inspired The Devil Wears Prada, leads quite the elusive life, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t family-oriented.
The 73-year-old first became a grandmother when her son welcomed daughter Caroline back in March 2017.
Charles and his wife Elizabeth Cordy went on to have their second daughter Ella in February 2019.
Meanwhile, Anna’s daughter Bee and her husband Francesco Carrozini welcomed their son Oliver in October 2021.

During her 73 Questions with Vogue interview last year, Anna revealed that her grandchildren don’t call her Nana, Grandma or anything else endearing.
Instead, they simply call her ‘Anna’.
