Sourced from the archives, Vans Skateboarding and Dime are set to release a collaborative example of the Rowley XLT. The release comes as part of a broader “Reanimation Series” in which Vans will bring a variety of classic styles back to life.
Dime and Vans Skateboarding example of the Rowley XLT is said to be a 100 percent preserved replica of the original, one of the most coveted silhouettes in the Vans Skateboarding archive and an icon of the Y2K era.
The shoe is set to release in two colorways, a reanimation of the original navy as well as an exclusive Dime “Birch” colorway. While detailed photos have yet to be shared at the time of writing, Vans has expressed that the pair features an elevated monochromatic color-blocking style, with Rowley XLT and Dime custom logos at the heel counter and tongues of the shoe.
As for technical specifications, Vans shared that the shoe remains true to its 2001 makeup, with a durable full synthetic nubuck upper, lightweight cut and buff EVA midsole, custom stabilizing heel clip and upper padding.
Starting September 29, Vans Skateboarding and Dime will host a pop-up shop in Paris France, in a custom-built storage container that doubles as a replica of the brand’s Montreal store. A launch party will also be held at the pop-up location on the opening night, featuring live DJs, drinks and more. Vans also teased that on October 1, the container will arrive at its final destination where a mystery skate spot will be revealed.
The exclusive “Birch” colorway of the Vans Skateboarding x Dime Rowley XLT will be available beginning September 29 at the pop-up and through Dime’s official site on September 30. As for the Navy pair, it is expected to release beginning October 5, at select Vans Skateboarding retail locations. Retail pricing has yet to be announced at the time of writing.
