Ahead of his forthcoming “Lost and Found” FW21 New York Fashion Week runway show, TOMBOGO has pulled back the curtains for his custom footwear pieces with Dr. Martens. The Bay Area-bred designer hand selected three silhouettes to work on including the Wincox, Fulmar and the Ziggy, the first two of which are permuted with detachable pouches while the latter is given a worn-in aesthetic.
Original cues for the Wincox and Fulmar are kept consistent as you have both offerings arriving with their traditional mid and low-cut heights, surrounding belt buckles and smooth black leather builds. Customary vivid yellow accents poke out through the exposed midsole stitchings of both pairs, while the high-profile entry also shows them off atop the heel tabs. From there, the utilitarian-inspired elements take over as medium-sized removable pouches rest on the lateral sides. Silver buttons are arranged at the top of these miniature storage units, while a bold red TOMBOGO banner with white lettering runs down the middle.
Additionally, the out-of-the box creative applies his touch to the classical Ziggy by using a special paint and dye method to rework the silhouette with a vintage, worn-in vibe.
