Tesla Texas Factory Celebrates Production of First Cybertruck

Officially unveiled back in 2019, production of Tesla‘s Cybertruck is now moving forward, following multiple delays. Earlier this weekend, Tesla took to Twitter to share an image that celebrated the first Cybertruck produced at Giga Texas. “First Cybertruck built at Giga Texas!,” wrote the manufacturer in a caption that accompanied an image showing the car off the assembly line in Austin, Texas, and surrounded by employees.

The first Cybertruck produced at Giga Texas is believed to be a production-intent model that Tesla used to establish the most efficient method of making the new vehicle on a mass production scale. Earlier this year, Elon Musk noted that mass production would come in 2024, while limited production would occur this summer.

Initially expected to release in 2021, the Tesla Cybertruck is believed to start at $39,900 USD for its single-motor variant, and $70,000 USD for the three-motor model.
